The word kiridashi means "to carve out." The Kiridashi is a traditional Japanese utility knife with a rich history rooted in craftsmanship and precision use. Originally designed as a simple, versatile tool, the kiridashi is notable for it’s compact size, distinctive Chisel Grind, and minimalist design.

The BKC Kiadashi Marking Knife is my own spin on the traditional form of the tool. It features a comfortable double-wide finger groove which ensures the blade stays locked into your hand, a feature I personally haven’t seen on any other version of this style blade.
